So, I have to get a photo taken for a brochure/flyer I'm going to be part of. It doesn't have to be professional, but I would like it to look half way decent and I have a record of HATING almost every picture of myself. Especially the ones Hot Toddy takes. He always hits the button just past the moment and catches me in some sort of blink or twitch. It's maddening.
I envy bloggers that post their mugs everyday like it's no big thang. They make it look all artsy and whimsical. (You know who you are Darlene, Rob, etc.).
Anyway...discussing the pic, I tell Todd we need a new digital camera (ours sucks) and he says,
"They don't make miracle cameras."
My eyes pop at the insult and pointing to the computer across the room I make a strange "unnhhhh....." sound.
He knows instantly I'm threatening to tell the
blog-i-verse about his remark.
He glances in the direction of the computer and laughs.
"I mean they can't make a camera that can get inside your crazy head and convince you the picture looks good!"
"Yeah sure. That's what you meant. Good thinking on your feet, buddy."
I'm totally telling.

It's not very often that I see a pix of myself and like it. It's not how I see myself. Maybe that's because I am combing my hair, brushing my teeth, etc., in front of the mirror. I recognize myself in pixs when I don't smile. Does that make sense? I think my smile on film is so fakey, so unnatural. or just so "toothy" or showing too much upper-gum line. I could go on and on.
But then you get comments like, this is you. You look fine.
BTW, the driver's license pix-that was a fluke. (Grin). But I am not really smiling, either.
Gotta love Hot Toddy. Quick on his feet, that boy. PLUS, he's right. The problem is not with the pics, Michelle. You're beautiful. How do I know? I've seen your pictures.
Relax, girl. You're lovely. Anyone who says different has me to answer to. Hot Toddy, too, I'm betting.
