I just left a one word comment on Drama Mama's blog.
Genious.
I have a mental block on the word "genious." Can't spell it to save my life (rhythm is another one).
I had to look it up.
I'd feel pretty stupid misspelling "genious."
I still don't have it right, do I?
Link, are you there?
Somebody.
Help me!

It may usually be spelled genius but who cares--maybe you're mixing it with gorgeous to make a fabulous new word!
Rhythm is one of my words too. Guarantee is my ultimate problem word. I have written it out over and over for years until it finally stuck, like a recovery.
Let's hope I don't slip--one stressful life situation and I may start putting the "u" in the wrong place again.
YOU are a genius, for the link. Bless you. You are a master of inclusion!
is the word you mean, ingenious?
GENIUS - No f'ing "o"!
BTW - Riley's favorite word is spelled SURELY - otherwise it's the word that means sassy!
Ya know....I was eyeballing surly, but I just couldn't figure it out.
HA!
Thanks Carrie.
I knew you'd come through.
: )
Hey I like Kim's idea. Genious = brilliant and gorgeous.
Tommorrow, that's the one for me , as you can see. It has a little red line on it. I have a mental block on it, ever since the day Ms. Griggs my first grade teacher wrote it on the blackboard. Yellow was good enough for me but this tomorow word- Elvis left the building and never came back.
I think you are a genius too.
Yeah, I was going to mention that about surely/surly - which doesn't mean sassy! It means grumpy, hostile, irritable: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/surly
Me, my issues are silly ones, like I's and E'. Peice, I always write. Nieghbor.
How about you just say smart?
I've got plenty of these word snafus lodged in my little brain, and it cheers me to know you guys do, too.
Like Stacy, tomorrow was a problem for me until a teacher told us to remember tom (like a guy's name) or (as in either/) and row (as in boat). 48 years later, I still think that out almost every single time I write or type the word.
Shows you the power of a good teacher, huh?
I missed terpentine...turpentine at the eight grade city spelling bee and I've been lost ever since. I have problems with all the other words listed here, too!
I get stuck on words that don't sound as they are read, so I mispronounce them because I don't hear them right. I can never say "aluminum." My tongue just trips over it. Kind of like "a-lum-ma-mum". LOL. Of course, that's a different thread.
I used to have a problem with "weird." I mean, i before e except after c, right? Shouldn't it be "wierd"? (Yeah, I know, it's only five letters.) So, I decided that weird is a "weird" word and it stuck.
these words - and 1,000 more - this is why we have editors. and why i am not one.
it's the ideas that count.
Perfekt.
Tom Or Row
Jerri is a genius!
