One Little Moment

Running the brush through her long brown hair one last time, I place my hands on her shoulders and turn her toward me. Two swoops down the bangs and she's done.

We look each other in the eye. Her's are big and brown. She leans her forehead into mine.

"I appreciate you." I say.

"I appreciate you too." She says.

"I like who you are."

I like who you are too." She says.

We stay like this. Heads together. Her standing, me sitting on the rocker in her room; brush and detangle spray still in my hands.

She smiles.

I smile.

Another great morning.

My heart is full. And now I'm off to let my girls know how much I love them before I send them off to school. Thanks, Michelle!

Thank you, Michelle. I'm going to squeeze my lovelies extra hard this afternoon.

Aww, a mother-daughter moment. And close to Mother's Day, too.

I gotta remember to tell my kids I love them. I admit I have been doing a lot of hollering lately. :(
