Was listening to Oprah's interview with author Laura Day on XM radio the other day. I barely caught any of it, but Oprah mentioned a suggestion in one of Day's books (I think the book is called Welcome to Your Crises) that said, every time you pass your reflection in a mirror greet her and say, "Hello Sweetie!"
Imagine greeting yourself with the same warmth and love and enthusiasm you would your little ones?
I've been doing this as I plow in and out of every room, unpacking. Most of the closets in this old house have full length mirrors behind the doors.
"Hello Sweetie!"
I gotta say....it takes me back a little, and then puts a little spring in my step.
I think we could all use a little more self love.
Period.

That is great. I think I would crack up but it sounds fun.
P.S. Thanks for all the comments to my Wasa blog. You da bomb.
Thanks, sweetie!
I love this idea!
Thanks sweetie!
Okay, I'm doing this today, what an awesome idea!
But sometimes, late at night, I see Ben Affleck when I look in the mirror...
What's a fellow to do?
Hey Sweetie! I instruct the majority of my hypnotherapy clients (especially the addicts) to tape a note card to their bathroom mirror with the words written on it; I LOVE YOU, and to read it out loud several times a day. It's unnerving for most people the first few days. Now I am adding the Hi Sweetie when passing by:)
