Turn the Page

I've been clearing out and paring down. All the closets. All the dresser drawers. Every cabinet.

Is it useful? Do we need it?

Trips to Good Will.

Journeys to the dump.

Purge.

Purge.

Purge.

It feels clean.

In my closet,

"This no longer represents who I am."

Out it goes.

I am not the same person I was when we arrived in Lynchburg two and a half years ago.

A piece I wrote at the time reads like a trip through the post traumatic stress brain. You can feel her not breathing. You can feel her running, looking for escape.

We are no longer in "survival mode."

We are walking toward, not running from.

Thriving now, we step into the next chapter.

I took a deep breath just reading that. We recently moved back into our renovated home, and I have elected NOT to put back the old crap out of storage.

I love that you are framing it that things no longer represent who you are.

Very liberating.

You're beyond the page turner- you're starting another book of your life.
Love to you.

Not enough has been made of the difference between stepping toward and running from.

You go, girl. Find new homes for the stuff you no longer need while you create a new home for yourselves.

Gorgeous.

This is great. All of it. I love the feeling of letting go of things. I had a yard sale last weekend, and did the same. Must make room to receive... ;)
