Rude Dog

Recently we visited a new friend who has a dog.
Riley, a cat person who is leery of canines, got up her nerve and sat bravely beside him. She even offered the dog an awkward pat or two.

The dog got up, retrieved a big bone, laid down in front of us and began gnawing on it.
Riley watched for a minute, then leaned over to whisper in my ear.

"Mom. I don't want to hurt his feelings, but he chews with his mouth open."

Ha! Miss M loves to preface things with "I don't want to be rude..." too. Saavy kids!
