Autism on Larry King

Remember the sweet boy with autism who was "hot as a pistol" making several winning shots, bringing his high school basketball team to victory?

He and a few others (Toni Braxton, Doug Flutie, Holly Robison Peete) are going to be on Larry King Thursday in what is being touted as an uplifting show.

I think they're doing the show as a little gifty to
Carrie. It's her birthday Thursday and she really digs that kid. Reminds her of someone she knows.

Read what yet John?

I was asking if you'd read the book. As a mom you may not have felt as I did at the end, and J-Mac's story is certainly a good one.

Nope I have not read the book yet.

What I love about this kid, and his triumphant basketball game, is the outpouring of love from everyone in the gym. That to me is the story.

Most folks, children included, are very compassionate if they are educated about autism, and John you are doing a beautiful job of that. Thank you.

The inspiration that boy is giving to people as a grocery clerk cannot be measured. I pity anyone who equates his monetary compensation/social status as the measure of his success.

Well, the feeling of the folks in the guy does come across in his telling, at least as he saw it.

I'm pretty sure that is the reason it's on Thursday, too. Love that Universe. No accidents!

Thanks, MO'N!

I saw J-Mac and his mom on the Today Show the other morning. Love him. Love his mom.

That boy's like a jolt of sunshine.

Thanks for the heads up on LKL. I'll set the DVR.

I will watch this. And, maybe if I can figure it out, tape it for my students to watch, too.
