HT has the morning off so he gets to drop the kids at school. On the way in, Riley slips on ice, falls and drenches her Hello Kitty pants.
She's hysterical.
Riley screams and screams, but Todd manages to get her (plus Seth) in the door. The teacher's aide accompanies them to the nurse's office, to look for some dry pants in the lost and found. She can wear them until her's are dry.
Everything Todd pulls out of the box is not right.
"THOSE PANTS ARE FOR BOY'S!"
She's never been so insulted in her life.
Seth's going to be late for preschool.
Riley continues to wail.
Todd tries another pair.
"NO!"
She screams, "This is so embarrassing!!!"
Todd throws up his hands.
"Riley. Why is it embarrassing? It's not like you peed your pants!"
The teacher's aide leans in and whispers, nodding in the direction of the little girl across the room.
"Mr. O'Neil. That little girl did pee her pants."
Doh!

I just spit my coffee out. LMAO!
:)
Oh my I remember those mornings! My son had a meltdown 3 out of 5 mornings. I would actually try to plan for them but as every Mom knows - they are smarter than us ;)
Love your blog - totally forget where I found you. It will come to me.
Oh if I had a nickle for every time I've put my foot in my mouth like that...! Here's to dry pants :-)
Toooo funny. When HT gets his foot out of his mouth, give him a big smooch. He probably needs it.
Yep. Foot in mouth is a familiar experience for me, too.
Thanks for the chuckle.
Gotta love Hello Kitty pants!
Poor HT! Poor Riley! My youngest won't dare wear the "extra" clothes at school, either. She insists on putting her own extras in her school bag every day 'just in case.'
Sorry for Riely, and HT too, but thanks for the laugh!
Doh is right!
Cutest story ever!
