His Father's Son

Seth comes into the kitchen and I spontaneously scoop him up. We are nose to nose, forehead to forehead. His legs wrapped around my waist.

"What am I going to do when you're too big for me to carry?" I ask.

He pulls his face back a bit and looks in my eyes.

"I'll carry you." he says.

OMG.

Have you ever seen that book, about the mommy who sneaks in and watches her little boy sleep, and hold him and rocks him...and she does it all his life. And then she gets too old, and HE rocks HER in his arms? *sniff/sob*
