OBAMA

Okay.

Obama.

I could write about some blogs I read yesterday where it was alleged that the Clinton campaign doctored the video on their ads to make Obama appear "blacker."
-
I could talk about how Rush Limbaugh is supposedly saying all kinds of nice things about Clinton, (in a transparent effort to drum up support for the candidate he feels the Republicans can beat).
-
I could talk about how Republicans are allegedly jumping ship, to vote in the Democratic primaries, specifically to vote for Clinton because McCain has a better chance at beating her in the general election.
-
I could. It is tempting.
-
But what we resist persists.
-
What we focus on gets bigger, and bigger.
-
Whether we want it or not.
-
So.
-
I am going to continue to focus on the candidate that embodies integrity.
-
The one who has the potential to unite people.
-
The one who voted against the Iraq war.
-
The one with the audacity to hope.
-
(The one who's significant other has a really good name).
-
C'mon people!
-
Let's focus on what we do want.

-
And give less attention to what we don't.
-
Keep up the momentum.
-
Keep hoping.

You run and tell that.

That photo reminds me of JFK, Jackie and Camelot. Love it. Love them.

I'm with you, Michelle. Feeling a little low post-Ohio primary, but haven't yet lost hope.

Okay, you're right. I'm going to turn my head toward the light and keep stepping out for Obama.

Thanks for the reminder!

He's my pick too, but the corporate world so completely dominates government today, I'm not singing "the times they are a'changin'" just yet. Wish I were though.

Let's just hope the "super delegates" vote the will of the PEOPLE and not for their own special interests. Bleh. Snapping out of it....GO OBAMA!

You would laugh if you experienced a NZ election. It is SO low key. Once every few years there might be a dingy old car with a board hanging off it with the name of a candidate driving slowly trhough the streets of a rural town with a loud hailer, mumbling about .....who knows, no one gathers to listen. Most people will just glance up, think huh....elections must be on.

Still having trouble identifying any significant contributions or accomplishments Obama has contributed during his current brief time in the U.S. Senate. And for the record (not to be hostile) he NEVER voted against the Iraq War as when that vote occurred in 2003, he was not a member of the US Senate. He was in the Illinois Legislature . He did vote to fund the war while a member of the U.S. Senate. He may have spoke out against the war but he did not vote against it. It may not seem like a big deal but it is a false presentation of the facts. Personally I feel he should have answered more than 8 questions in his press conference yesterday and not have whined..."but I answered 8 questions already.". If he wants to play with the big boys he must be expected to have the answers to many more questions from the press and to get rid of his deer in the headlights look. As of this moment if he does not toughen up and develop on the spot CONCRETE answers (forget the vague idea of "change") especially in the area of anti-terrorism measures, McCain will eat him for lunch in the debates in the fall. And for the record my first choice is not any of the current 3 top candidates, so I am not defending McCain or Hillary. Hope you are not offended at this Michelle, I love your blog to pieces and I know you will have a well researched rebuttal for me!!!!

No offense taken Mary Beth.

Who are you for and why? If you feel like sharing, I'd be interested in hearing.

Mulling over this as I scrub the pots and pans here....there is a big difference in voting to fund a war that has already started, and voting to invade another country.

He may not have "voted" but he spoke out, where few others had the guts.

I mean, besides Natalie Maines (All Hail the Dixie Chicks!)Amen.

Glad you didn't do any of those things, you're bigger than that.

Hope. Should be bumper stickers that say that, don't you think? Could you get right on that?

Since his wife's name is Michelle, my little pet name for him is HT. Shhhh... don't tell.

Michelle,
Too be honest I am not too hot for any candidate currently running. My daughter's name is REAGAN and that may give you an idea of why I currently find ALL the current candidates unsuitable for me! On another note we have recently started using methyl B12 injections for our son who had ADD. The cod liver oil has been great. We are going to a holistic pediatrician who is completely paid out of pocket but I have never complained. My son is worth the extra money. We have so many luxuries that would be given up so we could take him to this doctor. We are about to begin a chelation challenge. Kevin is not autistic but I feel all neurological issues are so closely related that a wholistic approach might enable him to be free from the ADD medication. I will always regret and feel guilty for the flu shot I received while I was pregnant with him. I refuse to let me kids get the flu shot and I speak out against it all the time. Even us crazy conservatives have a beef with the vaccine community!!!!
Thanks for listening,
Mary Beth

Mary Beth,

I hope your son responds to MB12 as well as my daughter did. It really was the magic bullet for us.

My non-autistic son is responding well to MB12 as well.

Not your fault about the flu shot. You were lied to. I am only just now starting to offer myself the same compassion.

Good luck to you.
