I've written for Literary Mama,The Imperfect Parent,Cool Cleveland,The Mad as Hell Club and the anthologies pictured below. I'm also a contributor to Hopeful Parents. In recent former lives, I worked in radio news and as a registered nurse. I blog about one Hot Toddy, two great kiddos, spirituality, autism and whatever else tickles me. Our daughter Riley is nine and has Asperger's,our son Seth is seven. Thanks for stopping! Make yourself at home.
Stepping away from the computer today. I leave you in good hands. The bravest girl in the world has written a story (she's the white girl, third from the right).
I adore riley she is a fun girl. Maybe she will be a published writer. There are a couple of online publishers that take stories by kids. Also writer's digest books has listings. If she can handle the acceptance rejection part of writing.
I understand about being too busy. I just removed half my favorite Blogs from bloglines.
That girl has it ALL going on. I haven't seen that quality of writing out of FIRST graders, in quite awhile. WOW. The. Apple. Doesn't. Fall. Far. From. The. F'ing. Tree.
Riley skipped a grade when we put her in this new school. She is officially a second grader and don't let her hear you calling her a first grader again, okay Carrie?

I love it. The drawing is wonderful.
I love her. Thanks for the cheer today, after that lame broadcast last night. :)
You Go Riley! This is likely not the first and I'm certain not the last dragon slaying for this girl!
That is the cutest thing on Earth! Horray for Riley!
Absolutely awesome. Riley is my hero!
Love. It.
:)
Get that girl an agent! Love it.
May I request Riley be a regular guest blogger?
What a wonderful story. "Hooray for Riley"
I'm carrying a piece of bubblegum with me at all times from now on. You just never know.

I absolutely love this!
It's got all the elements: setting, setting forth of action, conflict, and a heroine who saves the day!
Bravo!
I love her chutzpah.
And her self confidence.
And of course, that all of her friends are of color and she is the hippest chick, wearing "Baby Phat"
xo
that is BRILLIANT! both the story and the illustration!
I think my favorite part is the strongest dragon grip. So vivid! Hooray for Riley!
