Bridal Veil Falls

Yesterday, me and the kids went to Bridal Veil Falls. It struck me, that as many places as we've lived, we've always been able to find little beautiful areas of nature tucked away from it all. Due to lack of rain, the falls were pretty dried up, but so much the better. The kids were able to scoot down them on their bottoms, and hike through the water, which was never deeper than their knees.
It was a beautiful, enchanted day. Nice and cool in the shade. Little kids in nature, skipping stones. We sat on rocks, dangled our feet in the stream and had a snack.
It took no more than 30 minutes to get there. Cleveland, I have to tell you, I haven't fallen this hard for a city since DC in my early 20's. I'm not saying I'm willing to commit forever, but it could be serious.

I liked the sentiment on the memorial stone below. It is at the entrance of the falls. Earlier this summer, in Alaska, I met a mother who's child was like Riley. He'd been diagnosed with everything under the sun, but now, as a young man, something has clicked. In 18 months, he's taken in five years of music theory. He is going to college on a full music scholarship. He is thriving.
Thanks Joe.
Happy Labor Day everyone. All is well.
Love.

There are some hidden pockets around here even in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Of course I delight with you about the inscription. I certainly like Joe.
Best wishes

Oh, I love that saying. I think I am really warming up to Cleveland. I'm sick of the hurricanes - never used to be this way and now it is the norm I think. You're in a great place. Happy Labor Day to you and the family.

It's so wonderful to fall hard for a geographical location. I wish I would've fallen hard for DC. The fact that you love it makes me like it at least a little more . . .
