There are ten Obama signs on our street alone. Walking to school yesterday Seth said, "I want an Obama sign for our yard."
"We can probably get one," I told him, squeezing his little hand.
We walked a few more sidewalk paces and he said,
"Do they even make McCain signs?"
I chuckled, "I think I've seen a few of them, here or there."
"Well I'm voting for Obama."
"You've gotta be 18 to vote, but Mommy and Daddy will vote, and our votes will be for you, okay?"
"Okay," he sighed, then added, "I wish I could vote a hundred times."
"Me too buddy."
Me too.

CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!
has seth been talking to darby? those two should get together.
Yes Jess! I wrote this post a couple of days ago, and your post reminded me to publish it!
BTW...LOVE the name Darby!
I started the process of moving to MO in September, 2004. At a community festival, I saw a man carrying home a Bush yard sign and thought, "I wonder if he's embarrassed? You'd think he'd put that under a jacket or something."
I quickly discovered the joys (?) of living in a red state. Oh, so different from my beloved MN.
Anyway, Kerry signs were rare. Very, very rare.
On a walk last night, I was thrilled to note Obama signs on many lawns. They outnumbered McCain signs 2 to 1.
*happy sigh*
Tell Seth my vote can be for him, too.
Me too.
I'm out in the country this weekend and there are a disturbing number of McCain signs.
I got my Obama yard sign a few days ago. Hope you can get yours soon!
Well, you're fortunate to live where you do. Around me McCain/Palin people abound. It's sickening. Makes me want to move.
Typical Florida.
me too.
Oh ME TOO!!
unfortunately all the McCain signs made their way to my town. I hate driving past them.
Way to go O'Neils in that battleground state!
I'm signed up on YA for Obama. I wish I could vote in Florida or Pennsylvania.
Roxie has been making Obama signs for everyone we know.
We count Obama signs in windows on our way home from school.
We watched the debate together.
We must be doing something right.
Now, about those red states...
On our street there are Obama signs in nearly every yard and/or window, and ONE McCain sign. I kinda admire that person - it's tough to stand alone, albeit, misguided.
be a good mom and register that kid, and let him vote 100 times times, early too:)
Wish I didn't know what a McCain sign was, but then I still live in Virginia!
I know we are from opposite ends of the political spectrum (I am a conservative) but we have some cute politicking going on here in Florida too. My 4 year old little girl (who is named Reagan after Ronald Reagan) leaned over to her big sister in the back seat of the van and said, "You do know that Obama is going to raise your taxes don't you Bridget?" I cracked up. I am glad that children are involved in the election process as every person's opinion matters and deserves respect!(and that is what I teach my kids, as we have both candidates' signs on our street and we all remember to be good neighbors.)
Yes we all should be good neighbors. In our communities and internationally.
