Today I'm sending in the matching forms to 4 Paws for Ability, telling them more specifics about Riley, and our preferences when it comes to her service dog.
It is so exciting.
Click here to see all the dogs in training. (FYI the page is written in the voice of the dogs who permanently call 4 Paws home). Riley's dog could be any one of the dogs listed, though probably not one intended for tracking purposes.
Riley's only request is that her dog be "fluffy."
Do you see any fluffy ones?

Wow, I can't believe there are so many in training. We are so excited for Riley! Hello Ziggy, how adorable are you? Shanandoah is very fluffy! Brutus is very fluffy too!
Oh, those sweet puppies! But all of them are cute. I am partial to the goldens myself, having grown up with a part-golden mutt.
How will it be determined which one Riley will get? Will she/you meet several and see which one "clicks"?
What a great program. Very exciting!
We are videotaping Riley, (like the paparazzi) "GET THAT CAMERA AWAY FROM ME!" she says.
We send them tapes and they watch Riley and look at their pool of candidates and as the date in October gets closer they make the match. We tell them our preferences but they make the final call.
Ziggy is adorable!
Lucky, Too - so sweet
Rufus

Oh---this is too hard!
Labrodoodle or goldendoodle - fluffy for RIley and won't shed hair everywhere for you. Everyone's a winner!
They are all so adorable! I know Riley will get her perfect match. Can't wait to see this all play out! :-)
, Alvena...OMG are so cute! But any of them would be awesome!
Ok, Charlie is voting for Annie Oakley (nothing like a girl with a gun!) We're so excited for your family - it's just going to keep getting better.

so many! my money's on one of the goldens. SO sweet and soft. definitely FLUFFY!
So many beautiful Goldens! I have to say, they are amazingly loving dogs. And fluffy. ;)
But then I have heard very good things about Papillons for service dogs! I met a woman who told me allll about how smart her Papillon was, and how it saved her when she was having a stroke.
So, big or small?
:)

So cute...and so sneeze producing! I WISH that we could have an animal - allergies here.
If you find a hypoallergenic one...

Polly looks a bit fluffy, but my heart's vote is for Shenendoah (I can't spell that and I'm not going back to look!) But man, something jumped inside my chest when I saw that dog. So GENTLE and calm looking. Like she could see into your soul! Do you get to pick?
Drama you need be dog free no longer! Poodles and west highland terriers and boarder terriers don't shed hair so as long as that's the only issue, you pet free status need not continue! ;)
That is so exciting! It's great to be hearing about the process as you go along :)
Oh, so much puppy cuteness!!! I'm partial to the fluffiness of the papillons and the boxer/aussie mix (Disney litter, I think they were).
