John Elder Robsion will be interviewed today at Asperger Women on Blogtalk Radio, 3PM eastern. It is a call in show, so call in! I'll make it easy for you, here's the number 347-637-1469.
I myself won't be able to phone in, because Riley's little b-day party is happening. While John shares his knowledge and wows them with his humor, I'll be decorating t-shirts and eating ice cream cake from Ben & Jerry's. Cookie dough on top, brownies in the middle, chocolate on the bottom. White frosting, in case anyone is interested.
But wait! The good news is, you can download it after the fact, which is exactly what I intend to do. I didn't even know there was an Asperger Women Association and I am excited to check it out. You can learn a lot from John Elder Robison, let me tell you.
Once last thing, I think you need to register with Blogtalk to participate in the conversation, or to download today's interview. It takes literally 30 seconds. You'll find the "register" link at the top of the page when you click on the Blogtalk link above.

Ditto DM!
Did Riley pick out the cake? Because that's absolutely GENIUS.
OMG (Sorry, John) THAT CAKE!!!
That cake sounds like crap. I totalllly DON'T want to eat it all...Right now. No really, icky yucky, I'm telling you. I'll just sit here with my apples and...celery.
(but if you think it will ship well, you can feel free to send some to me. I guess. Whatever.)
HAPPY BiRTHDay to your wonderful girl! I hope all her wishes come true.
:)
I wish Michelle O'Neil were downloadable. I could just click a button...you would magically appear. We could have a little tea, talk about books. And then hit the shiny red Reverso-button that zipped you right back home. Fun, fun. The future needs to be now.
I'm listening to this right now, and my heart is breaking with John's description of banging his head (and why he did it) when he was a kid.
: (
M,
I prefer coffee, but I'll be working on a way to download myself. If the Jetsons could do it, why can't I?
Wow! 32 minutes in and John is getting propositioned by a caller! Go John!
OK, Michelle, I have a few thoughts for you . . .
I hear you about the heart breaking aspect of head banging. Today I know that's how empathetic moms like you see things like that.
But to me, it wasn't heart breaking. Sure, it was frustrating, but I did describe how I worked my way into a position of success, and the behavior ceased.
So to me, the lesson is: Don't feel soory; just change your life for the better. That's what I wanted to impart.
Now to the second items . . .
You think someone propositioned me? Can you elaborate? Because if that happened, I totally missed it, and I am genuinely curious as to what stood out to you that went totally over my head.
And that probably contains another insight into how we Aspergians see the world.
John,
Thank you for your insight. I know feeling sorry for people does them no good, but still, as a mom, it is tough sometimes. I appreciate your reminder on this.
The first or second woman who called to join the discussion panel? Calling you a six foot tall drink of water? Something like that? Definately flirty, but I didn't get that it was a real proposition. Just a flirty, funny kind of thing. Sorry to confuse!
: )
was it drama?
I've already called Robison a tall drink of water.
I've commented on his hot Aspergian @ss.
I make no bones about my unabashed crush on this fine specimen of a man.
Headbanger or not.
xoxo
