Anyway, we were asked before entering the Amish farm to please respect the request of the Amish people not to be photographed. Taking pics of the buildings was okay, but not the people.
Riley fell in love with the cats there, and asked me to take a photo of a tiny orange kitten.
As I began focusing my camera, Seth, his face twisted with concern tugged at my elbow and whispered,
"Mom. What if the kitten is Amish?"

I'm so proud of you!!! Support your local producers - you won't regret it.
And how could you not support a cute kitten like that ginger one? Reminds me of our Bruce. I like the look of the blue colour one tho'. Unusual colour and very pretty.
Seth...such love. That boy IS love.
he is so thoughtful and respectful .. gee, i wonder where he got that from ;)
spoon, please.
ELEVEN CHILDREN and LOTS of animals? I swear to hell I'd last a flippin' day.
I echo Jess with this one. Such a sweet, thoughtful boy you have.
So much cuteness in just one post!
Great question, Seth! (It'll probably end up in a book . . .)
Yeah, mom?
:)
Oh Courtney! I hope so!
Priceless.
Seth knows cats are people too! : )
I'd love to spend some time with the Amish and learn about some of their farming techniques.
love that you're visiting farms to see where your food is really coming from. this is one of the biggest benefits of working for a health food store. we get lots of fresh local foods and i can grab what we need when i'm there for my weekly meeting - without 4 kids! Farmer's market is Sat. a.m. here, & totally out of the question.
